Microblading Eyebrows: Your Semi-Permanent Makeup Healing Process Guide
Microblade is a form of cosmetic tattooing that deepens the color and fills in your eyebrows.
It’s meant to make the brows look fuller and thicker, without the need for additional makeup.
This beauty service is also know as:
microblading
semi-permanent makeup
microstroking
micropigmentation
eyebrow embroidery
eyebrow feathering
3D eyebrows
When you come in for your session, bring a clean, fresh face. Your microblade eyebrow artist will use a special tool to make tiny cuts in your skin.
This tool consists of multiple needles connected to a handle. Once the cuts have been strategically placed, your microblade artist will fill in pigment into the cuts - creating the appearance of eyebrow hairs.
Before your sessions begin, your microblade eyebrow technician will go over your preferred hues for yoru brows.
If you want your eyebrows to look feathery and full, microblading is an option. It’s a semipermanent alternative to applying makeup on your eyebrows.
Microblading is also helpful if you have madarosis or have lost your eyebrows due to a number of medical reasons.
Eyebrow Microblading Healing Process
Everyone’s healing process is different, yet for most, it takes about 25 - 30 days. This can be affected by your skin type, age, overall health, and environment.
During the first 14 days, your eyebrows will vary in color, definition, and texture. Not to worry though, because once you get through the initial tightness feeling, then a bit of peeling, your results will generally last 18 - 30 months, needing touch-ups every 12 - 18 months.
Now please note - everyone is different and every healing process is different. These are simply general guidelines.
Let’s review your day by day healing for your microbladed eyebrows.
Day 1 - 3
Your brows will look a bit dark. They will fade. You will likely experience:
redness
swelling
tenderness
potentially mild bleeding
a sensation of cuts (because you do have cuts)
Days 4 - 12
Your brows will be dark and thick in pigment. Again, don’t worry, this will fade. At this stage, you will begin to experience flaking and tons of itchiness - this means your eyebrows are healing.
Whatever you do - try your best to avoid picking your brows. You could potentially accidentally remove pigment too, making for an uneven microbladed look.
Days 13 - 30
Yep, you guessed it. By now, your brows are healing nicely and your color is normalizing. See you at a touch-up! How long until then? Like we mentioned, usually about 12 - 18 months is a good guide for a microblade touch-up. Everyone’s skin is different, and you can always ask your eyebrow technician for advice as to when the best time for you to get a touch-up would be.
Now go enjoy those beautiful brows!
